Violent clashes with Israeli forces in support of Palestinian prisoners, hundreds injured
Nearly a hundred Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli troops near the city of Nablus in the West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that nearly a hundred Palestinians were wounded in clashes with Israeli forces on Wednesday in the districts of Beita and Huwara, near the city of Nablus.
The Palestinian Movement and groups have called for a conflict with the Israeli military to support Palestinian prisoners. According to media reports, clashes between Palestinian and Israeli forces have become common in the Beita region of Nablus in the past two months. Confrontation has escalated due to the construction of a new Israeli settlement in the region in May.
Israeli security officials have said about the matter that in view of the possibility of increasing violence in the area, the deadline for the shutdown in the West Bank has been extended. Israeli defense officials also fear that Palestinian terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip may launch rocket fire in support of these people.
