Many countries of the world are still struggling with the shortage of Covid vaccines. Meanwhile, Israel may become the first country in the world, where people will be given the fourth vaccine of Kovid. Israel is now considering applying the fourth dose of the Kovid vaccine to deal with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. Here health workers, people above 60 years, or people with a weak immune system can be given the fourth vaccine of Kovid vaccine. One of its objectives is also to increase vaccination in the country. A panel of experts, set up by the Israeli health ministry, presented its recommendations on Tuesday. The panel suggested that people who have been given the third vaccine for the Kovid vaccine at four months old should be given the fourth vaccine. However, these recommendations are yet to be implemented.

Prime Minister Naphthaly Bennett, who has urged Israel to get more people vaccinated to deal with the fifth wave, has welcomed the panel's suggestions. He said that this is great news, which will help in dealing with the fast-spreading Omicron variants across the world. The panel has also suggested that the gap between the second and third vaccines should be reduced from the current five months to three months. It has been said in the statement of the panel that these measures will prove to be effective in dealing with the fifth wave of Corona. However, the data on the basis of which experts have given these suggestions have not been made public. Speaking to Israel's Army Radio, Arnon Schauer, a doctor on the panel, said, "We are seeing a decrease in protection against Omicron infections. Cases of infection are increasing in this wave at an amazing rate.
