The first flight will be in 2024.
In Uttar Pradesh, just before the assembly elections, many projects are being inaugurated and foundation stones are being laid continuously by the state and central government. PM Narendra Modi is reaching to inaugurate the Noida International Airport in Jewar. This is the second major project after Purvanchal Expressway, for which PM Narendra Modi is reaching. While BJP is expected to get an election flight through this airport, this airport is going to be very important for western UP, some districts of Haryana, and NCR. This will reduce the pressure on Delhi's IGI Airport, while on the other hand, people from large parts of NCR will be able to get flights from near them.
Jewar's Noida International Airport will connect about 30 districts of West UP and the Braj region including Agra, Meerut, Mathura, Ghaziabad, Noida, Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Hathras. It will be very easy to reach this airport from many districts including Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra. Apart from this, people of nearby cities of Haryana will also get facilities from this airport. How much this will affect the development of the area, can be understood from the fact that the property rates in the surrounding villages have increased rapidly. Apart from this, the development of infrastructure has also been rapid.
This international airport will prove beneficial for a large part of UP. People will use it in large numbers to avoid connecting flights. The reason for this is also that the airport will have direct connectivity to 4 expressways, which will make it easier for people to reach here. Yamuna Expressway, Agra Lucknow Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, and Bundelkhand Expressway will be directly connected to it. The first flight will take off from this airport in 2024. The work of the first phase will be completed by then. This airport is located at a distance of 72 km from Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi.
