The Indian Army has hoisted the tricolor on the border in Galway Valley of Ladakh on the occasion of New Year. According to Indian Army sources, the soldiers hoisted the tricolor on the occasion of New Year's Eve. The news of the Indian Army hoisting the tricolor has come on such an occasion when there were reports of China hoisting the flag in the Galway Valley in a section of the media. Earlier it was also reported that China has given new names to some areas of Arunachal Pradesh. China took this step before the implementation of the disputed Land Boundary Law.

Responding to these reports, on Thursday, the Central Government had said, 'We have received reports of renaming of parts of Arunachal by China through some media reports. But changing the name does not change the reality. Arunachal Pradesh was always an integral part of India and will continue to be so. When asked about China's move, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson had said, "China had taken such a step in 2017 also." In 2020, there was a clash between the soldiers of India and China in Galvan Valley itself. 20 Indian soldiers were martyred in this. Apart from this, in many media reports, more than 40 soldiers of China were also killed.

Now the hoisting of the tricolor by Indian soldiers in this Galvan Valley is being considered a befitting reply to China. The situation has changed after the clash between the soldiers of both the countries in Galway Valley. Several rounds of talks have taken place between the two countries and after that China has reduced or withdrawn the deployment of its troops from many fronts. In particular, there has been a withdrawal of Chinese troops from Depsang and Hot Springs, where tensions between the two countries have been brewing for a long time. It has been said many times by the Indian government that there has been an attempt to unilaterally change the border situation from the Chinese side and this is the reason for the dispute.
