Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Deputy PM Mullah Baradar as well as his Afghan counterpart Amir Khan Mutaqqi in Doha. Talking to News, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said that China has so far provided Rs 7.5 crore. He has further said that China has promised another Rs 37.5 crore for humanitarian aid, especially medicine and food.

China has called for the withdrawal of US sanctions against the new leaders of Afghanistan. China has said in view of the poor economy of Afghanistan that it is ready to help in the reconstruction of Afghanistan.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said this during the first high-level meeting between Beijing and the Taliban to a Taliban delegation in Doha, Qatar on October 25. According to the Chinese news agency, Wang said the international community should work with the Taliban in a "rational and pragmatic manner".
