America and China clashed on Twitter over South China Sea
Clashes between the US and China.
The South China Sea has been in constant news. Especially in the last few years. Tensions in the South China Sea are increasing due to the increased tension between the US and China. The latest update is that the 7th US Fleet tweeted that the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group (VINCSG) group is operating in the South China Sea for the first time during its 2021 deployment.
This was followed by a tweet from the US Navy's information chief. Rear Admiral Dan Martin, commander of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group, wrote, "The freedom of all nations to navigate international waters is important, and the South China Sea is special as the region accounts for about a third of the world's trade." He further said that the behavior of the Chinese military is contrary to international law and the US open Indo-Pacific approach. All countries, small and large, want to remain independent of their sovereignty and pressure in any way and be able to pursue economic development.
Next came Hu Xijing. Hu is the editor of Global Times, the Chinese government's behemoth newspaper. "Hopefully, the United States will maintain the same standard of freedom of navigation when Chinese warships cross the Caribbean Sea or one day appears near Hawaii and Guam," he wrote. That day will come soon.'
