20 killed, 50 missing after motor boat and ship collide in Peru
In the Amazonian region of Loreto, Peru, a motorboat and a ship collided on the Hualaga River.
At least 20 people are feared dead and more than 50 missing in a collision between a motorboat and a ship in the Hualaga River in the Amazonian region of Loreto, Peru.
The accident took place amidst thick fog when a motorboat rammed a passenger ship. About 80 passengers were on board the ship at that time.
One of the surviving passengers told reporters that before the collision happened, he had heard a boat approaching his ship. Several passengers were asleep at the time of the collision. A Navy team is carrying out a massive operation for the rescue of the victims.
